Physiotherapy
At Blackwood Physiotherapy and Pelvic Health we treat a range of musculoskeletal issues. Whether you have an ache that has developed from your work or an acute sports injury, our physiotherapists have the knowledge to get you pain free and back to full recovery doing the things you enjoy. We aim to improve your strength, function and mobility to maintain the healthier and fitter you, while also preventing future injuries.
Our physiotherapy services include hands-on manual therapy, dry needling, taping, and exercise prescription. With a 40 minute initial consultation, we aim to find out the root cause of your symptoms and develop a treatment plan to achieve pain free optimal movement and function. Our goal is to make sure you know exactly what to expect from us and are comfortable with our approach collaboratively.
Pelvic Health
Optimal pelvic health is complex and often has multiple contributing factors to take into account and address. At Blackwood Physiotherapy and Pelvic Health we strive to achieve highly specialised treatment for every individual, not only treating the symptoms but addressing all elements involved. A woman's body goes through so many changes over her lifespan, and often a lot of conditions are put down to age or something that just happens. This is a common thought that we are determined to change. We aim to make conversations around incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction more comfortable, and encourage men to reach out as well.
Pre & Post Natal
We understand first hand the overwhelming journey of pregnancy and post-partum. The body goes through significant hormonal and postural changes throughout pregnancy and then again during and following birth. This has an impact on the body which can cause common symptoms to arise including pain, discomfort, heaviness and incontinence. Our Pelvic Health physiotherapist can do so much to help with those discomforts and even prevent issues arising.
Pilates
Mat Pilates is a low impact exercise class that focuses on spinal mobility, core control, and pelvic stability. It is safe and effective for everyone, no matter what experience you have. I am passionate about giving everyone the opportunity to use movement and exercise to achieve optimal movement and achieve their fitness goals pain free. It is also a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people in the community.
Our classes run for 45 minutes on a Wednesday evening at Alexandra Bridge Hall. All you are required to bring is a mat, socks (preferably grip socks) and clothes that are easy to move in. We also offer a Foundations class for those that would like to learn the basics of Pilates first, starting exercise again following having a baby or suffer from chronic pain and need to take it slow.

Courtney is a must-have on your postpartum recovery support team! The knowledge and passion that Courtney shared as a Pelvic Health Physio in supporting me as a new mum with my baby in tow has been monumental in me healing faster and more correctly than I ever knew possible. That journey, for me especially the first 6 months, would have been unimaginably harder without her. I recommend Courtney to all pregnant and postpartum mamas, she is the pelvic health bestie you didn’t know you needed and she is just so good at what she does!

Courtney is a phenomenal women’s health physiotherapist. I have been seeing Courtney for back and hip pain during pregnancy and she knew what was causing it straight away. After her massage, dry needling and home exercises, my pain has reduced dramatically to almost nothing and she had prevented any severe pain that it would have continued to cause. Her professionalism, caring nature and ability to listen has made such a difference to
my pregnancy!

After 5 years of unsuccessful treatment from a back injury, I underwent surgery for a spinal fusion in 2010.
In July 2023, I suffered another disc protrusion with nerve impingement. The pain was excruciating and I could not do anything even walk was very painful. I was recommended to see Courtney and within about 4 visits surgery was out of the picture. Courtney explained everything and worked her magic. I will and have recommended Courtney!

Courtney’s Pilates class is like no other, being a physiotherapist she brings great knowledge and expertise to the classes. Courtney takes the time to make sure everyone’s form is perfect to prevent injury and get the most out of your workout. After two children my core, pelvic floor and lower back was in poor form, after her classes I’ve never felt stronger and I’m engaging muscles I never knew I had. Courtney caters for all levels of experience and is very welcoming and kind. I highly recommend!
